Overview
Sitia is a picturesque town, amphitheatrically built into the sheltered corner of the bay of Sitia. It is located at the far north eastern end of Crete, it has a population of some 9000 people and is the economic and administrational centre of the District of Sitia.
It has an airport and a port in direct contact with Piraeus and the islands of the S.E. Aegean
Sitia is famous for its clean beaches with plentiful sand which have been awarded the E.U. blue flag and for its mild climate, its hospitable fun loving sociable people and for its fine wines.
